I can’t wait to digest and share what my key takeaways were from the Katelyn James Business Journey Live Event. It is the perfect way to start my blog in 2020!
Let’s just say, my heart has been that in my business I get to share God’s love somehow with the people I meet. That people may see a divine light in me that warms their hearts, and helps them let go of anxiety. And allows my clients to enjoy the gift of the moment. This includes the love of their family or their own personal aspirations in life/business/etc. I love shooting weddings because I get to be a part of my couples’ lives for a season. For many, I get to be a part of my couple’s lives much longer than just the time that we “plan” photography for their wedding.
I can’t explain how fulfilling it is to have a genuine opportunity to connect with clients. My desire is to be a bit of a divine spark… This year has been incredible! Meeting new friends, learning about personal branding. And putting my concepts into an action plan. I think of any experience – outside of one on one mentorship (WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND) – this year-long business journey has been one of the most impactful of all my professional creative experiences.
The Katelyn James Business Journey was a worthy investment because Katelyn embodies what she teaches. This is evident here as she took time to hug each and every one of us. She hugged hundreds of photographers who admire her work and passion. We learned as a capstone to the course in the Katelyn James Business Journey Live Event, how to protect our passion. Further, we learned about balancing the passion for what we do with the big picture. And we learned to embrace living our best version of life and business NOW. This means celebrating small wins and embracing the growth that is in the hard stuff. Can I get an AMEN?
It’s hard to boil down the Katelyn James Business Journe Live Event and what I learned into a little package of three simple steps to a great business. The year-long journey was exactly that – a journey of discovery. What does it mean to have a personal brand? How do we find value in our craft and add value to the client experience? And how do we create loyal clients who then become our marketing plan? Help! I don’t know how to navigate social media! What in the world do we need to be doing about taxes and legal matters? And so much more! Katelyn’s final thoughts, through her own experience of working through conflict in her personal life and through tragedy and loss left a great impression on me.
It’s easy to idolize someone who we feel has “arrived.” But then it’s even more inspiring to know this person is a human just like us. Katelyn is a person who has struggled with #allthethings in her business. I’d dare say she has faced more than the average person in her family life too. And yet, she has remained resilient in her character. She shared her ability to re-direct her course if she felt off through coaching. She had the boldness to share divine hope from having climbed some deep trenches.
Finally, all I can say is this. My passion was ignited – not just for business. But for embracing my blessings and the best of life as it is today! Celebrating the goodness of God and my family. Cherishing the gift of family and the ability to create and to connect. Knowing we all need re-direction sometimes. Lastly, we have so much more opportunity to impact people than we really know.
THANKS to Katelyn James and the team for putting this incredible event together for us. We have looked forward to it all year and it was better than I could have imagined! I can’t believe I got to hug you! :)~ ((Thanks also for listening to my own pregnancy loss with compassion. )) I certainly hope our paths cross again!
P.S. If you are curious about my personal journey and road to discovery, you can ready about it on my blog!
