Super excited to share about the latest news, being selected for a worthy award – BEST OF WEDDINGS THE KNOT.
“Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.” Goethe.
Commitment is a powerful word and an even more powerful concept. It’s not a word I use lightly and it’s a concept I chase down every day! About 18 months ago we moved to VA and I embarked on a new journey that, to be honest, I didn’t know where it would take me… I guess in some ways I am glad that the bigger picture wasn’t revealed because it may have overwhelmed me. But none the less when I committed to starting my own business, Providence moved too. And so here’s the thing; I had never run a business before! Thus, I had no official collegiate training for what I wanted to do. I could go down a long list of what I didn’t have. But you know what? None of that mattered!
Thankfully, I had a commitment and when I committed to my business, when I committed to caring for my clients, Providence moved too! I took a step in the direction of my dreams and booked nearly 30 weddings in that year. And served more families than I can count on family sessions.
I’ve been peed on (by newborns). And I’ve laughed some great belly laughs. Further, I’ve shed tears in my quiet corner behind my trusted Canon. It’s a commitment that brought me to the place of experiencing these amazing moments in life with some of the most precious couples I could have ever met. Truly, it’s commitment that moves me forward to learn to hone my craft and apply concepts of composition to each new session. And it’s a commitment that keeps me going when I face challenges as a wife, mom, new solo-preneur.
But what I have learned is this. With each small and big win, I know my commitment is paying off. With each smile, hug, when words of gratitude are shared with me, I am reminded of how grateful I am to be able to serve others. And how blessed I am that I can do something I love. I know how amazing it feels to get to work from the creative zone! And just as importantly, I am grateful that Providence moved to!
With that, I am sharing the news that I have been voted BEST OF WEDDINGS The KNOT for the 2nd year in a row. Mega thanks go out to my Fantastic Clients (you all rock!) and to my family for gracing me that margin I needed this past year of #hustle and most of all Providential Favor in this, my 1st FULL year in Business. And I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Check out my latest engagement session!
